Match report Game 1 of the West Sussex tour was against Eastergate CC. A 40 over a side game played in glorious sunshine, something we see all too rarely back home. Hillsy skippered for the day and lost the toss. Unsurprisingly, the hosts decided to bat.

Hillsy and Veer opened the bowling and both bowled with good pace and control against the home openers (one rather hilariously called 'I Blow'). The pair bowled through with just one wicket to show by the introduction of Looooooooooomba and Wiggy O'Neill brought rewards as the home line up collapsed and struggled to score and for the remainder of the innings, the bowling was rotated and wickets were shared around. The hosts finished on 151 all out.

Eastergate skipper Chris Brittain was the quality act in the attack and he disposed of 5 Town bowlers. Sumeet Khetia (27) and Ravi Kotecha (22) batted well to help Town recover after the opening spazzes failed to get into double figures and the final pair of Veer and Raj Kotecha made a great effort to see us home but alas we ran out of bodies when Veer was given LBW for a classy 35.

Lots of beer was drunk, Furmo (Barney Gumble) went missing after spending the day wandering round without a top on and the numerous fines collected supplied many jugs of beer to watch the England v Ukraine game.
