Match report Town's second eleven picked up a valuable 14 points in a game they knew they really had to win. After being put in by the opposition, Town looked in early trouble as the slow and tricky pitch caused problems. But an excellent 98 run fifth wicket partnership between Richard Robbins (46) and Shaun O'Neill put Town in command. When Robbins fell, O'Neill continued to attack the visitors wayward bowling and Town raced towards maximum batting points. O'Neill (70) and Fidler (15*) saw Town towards their target and allowed skipper Hills to declare early.

Following tea, Town's attempts to bowl out the opposition were met with the rain and the spinners especially found it hard to grip the ball. With conditions fast worsening, Town began to make inroads into the Eversholt top order with Shaun O'Neill picking up 3 wickets. Eventually however, the rain became too much and play was ended.

Skipper Adam Hills said: "Had we fielded in the same conditions they had, I am certain we would have won. Next week against Southgate is massive."
