Match report Northwood Town's second string were blown away by a lively Watford Town attack who showed just why they are already promoted and have not lost a game all season. Skipper Adam Hills won the toss and put the opposition into bat. It was a bold move but one which, given their precarious position was the obvious choice. Youngsters Shaun O'Neill and Viraj Manek took the new ball and bowled superbly well in restricting the opposition. O'Neill bowled far better than his figures of 1/54 off 16 overs suggest and he was luckless at times.

Watford Town boasted a Tanzanian international in the shape of Hamisi Abdallah and he was the thorn in the Town side as he blasted any wayward bowling as Watford Town looked to make an imposing target. The introduction of skipper Hills proved fruitful for Town as he bagged three quick wickets to swing the game back towards parity. Wickets were falling regularly but the runs kept coming the shape of Abdallah and he went on to make 89 before edging to first slip. Hills and Jack Daly (2/28) cleaned up the tail cheaply and Watford were dismissed for 186. Hills walked away with figures of 6/56.

Visiting skipper Felton gave his players a grilling at tea and demanded a response from his team. He got one. The new ball pair of Abdallah and Imran Shah caused carnage for Town as only Phil Carter (17) were able to offer and kind of resistance in the top order. At 52/9, Town looked shell-shocked with the opening pair sharing all 9 wickets between them. Town were given a massive positive for the final wicket as the youthful pair of Daly (16) and Connor O'Neill (13*) put on 29 for the final wicket and gave Town's final score of 81 a little bit more of a respectable look.

Town only picked up 5 points though and have 3 games left in which to save themselves. Realistically, they will probably need to win all 3 games and hope results go their way. But this was a game that left many positive signs for the future.
