Match report Northwood Town continued their mid-season comeback with their second win of the season against a good St Albans side. With great spirit and resistance, Listers men managed to clinch 30 points quite convincingly.

Towns openers fell early on what seemed a fairly slow track early on, struggling to get the ball away. With the outfield slow and some tight bowling from St Albans, town looked in a very poor position at 80-5 with the top order losing wickets at regular intervals. However the resistance and patience of Jamie Cotton (27) and Kunal Sanghi (43) got town into a respectable position, still with plenty to do. After Cottons valiant innings soon came to an end, a captains innings was required and Michael Lister didn’t fail to impress with an attacking 73 not out disrupting their bowling momentum with an array of shots all over the park to boost Towns total to a very competitive 192!

When bowling, the ever reliable Richard Doling and Dominic Whyley both started very well picking up early wickets at regular intervals and really putting the pressure on St Albans. The St Albans batsmen never really managed to form a real partnership despite a bit of resistance from Ingham (37). Supporting the two openers and finishing the game off was kyle Lawrence who picked up 2 wickets in 3 overs giving away no runs and the birthday boy Nishil Mapara picking up the final wicket to wrap up a convincing win for Northwood Town who move to 12th in the table.
