Match report Northwood Town's hot streak came to an end with a disappointing defeat at home to London Colney.

Winning the toss and batting first, Town failed to assert themselves in an uncharacteristic display which saw the top order struggle to score against some tight bowling on a slow pitch. Only Jamie Cotton, who managed a well crafted and patient 47, and form batsman Kunal Sanghi (30) truly applied themselves to the task and wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. Town's tail failed to provide the accustomed late onslaught of boundaries to take them up to the 200 mark and Town finished well short of a par score with 166 from 46 overs.

In reply, London Colney were never really troubled and solid 50s from overseas player Buckmaster and the captain, Tim Fretter saw them home with plenty of overs and 4 wickets still to spare.

Town's captain Michael Lister was disappointed that his team failed to dominate with the bat this week but quickly put the defeat behind him, "we have been in good form recently so it was a shame that we failed to take the initiative at any point during our innings. I think we got what we deserved in the end but it's a good lesson for the team and nobody gave up in the field so we'll just move on and look forward to next week's game at Ampthill Town when we get another opportunity to show what we can do".
