Match report In a must win game, Town were sent into bat by the home side.

Despite several batsmen making good starts, none converted their innings and Town struggled to come to terms with a deceptively uneven surface.

With Town struggling at 116 for 6, Bentvelzen and Nic Patel showed tenacity though and a brisk 21 from the latter pushed town towards the 150. Another flurry of wickets though left town struggling until some class from Bentvelzen steered Town past 170. Khetia promptly declared after 44 overs.

Then taking the old ball, Khetia and Parmar bowled with excellent control, Khetia making the deserved breakthrough in the fifth over.

When the new ball was taken though, Shenley had no idea what hit them as Parmar decimated the top and middle order with an outstanding spell. With the home side reeling and 7 down an unlikely partnership formed that took Shenley first beyond the 50 mark and eventually past the 100.

With Town struggling to make the breakthrough, it was Bentvelzen who cracked the partnership first with some imaginative bowling and then drifted past the number 10 with a Warne-esque ripper, Tailor doing the rest.

When Khetia finally broke through the excellent Burr's defence it was all over, Town eventually cruising home with plenty to spare.

Man of the match was Parmar with excellent figures of 5 for 35.

One more game to go and Town are still in the promotion hunt...
