Match report Northwood Town were unfortunate not to pick up their first win of the season after a valiant effort away to North Mymms.

After being asked to bat, Akshay Loomba (32) and Raj Ahluwalia (58) got Town off to a great start with an excellent 78 partnership. However, after they both fell and North Mymms reverted to spin, Town's run rate dried up and none of the other Town batsmen truly asserted themselves on a good batting pitch. Town made 179 but would later rue their failure to bat the 53 overs and post a competitive 200+ total.

As has been the way in recent weeks, Town's bowling and fielding effort was superb. Opening with the old ball, Krunal Patel (3-43) and Raj Kotecha (1-26) made early inroads and were unlucky not to snag a few more of North Mymms batsmen as they tried a number of overly adventurous and nervy shots. After 18 overs Vadgama (3-71) was handed the new ball and blew away the opposition's top order with a typically brilliant display of line and length seam bowling. With North Mymms 8 down and still 50 runs required, Town fancied their chances of pulling off the win but with the track still easy to bat on and a couple of half chances going down, North Mymms managed to creep their way towards the target and a patient 46 from Anwar eventually saw them home with 2 wickets to spare.

Town earned a valuable 14 points for their efforts and maintained their steady improvement in an undoubtedly tough division.
