Match report Town arrived in Amersham hoping to carry on last their promotion form from last year. Skipper Khetia won the toss and opted to bowl hoping to profit from a grassy wicket.

The early going though was dominated by the hitting of Oliver as the home raced along at ten an over. Parmar eventually made the breakthrough, but Clarendon continued to apply themselves well bringing their 100 up only 2 down.

Town persisted though as Khetia rotated his bowlers and the excellent Katira was eventually rewarded with the first of his 2 wickets. Town rattled through the tail in good time, but some early misfields allowed the home side to reach 165 all out.

In response, Town suffered an early loss as Pandey misread the pace of the pitch, chipping up an easy chance.

Mihir Patel and Rajul Patel both batted excellently though and Town raced along at over 9 an over before Mihir eventually departed.

Runs continued to flow easily enough, but sadly for Town so did the wickets. With the game intriguingly poised on 138 for 6, we seemed destined for a tight finish.

A phenomenal spell of bowling from Durrant though put Town to the sword as the final 4 wickets fell for just 2 runs and Town were all out for 140.

After the game Khetia remained optimistic - "We actually played very well for the most part and I can't honestly pin my finger on what went wrong. We took 7 catches, bowled accurately and our boundary count speaks for itself. Perhaps we were a little rusty, but if we continue to play like that we'll be flying back up the table before long"
