Northwood Town Cricket Club Sunday XI v Pinner on Sun 06 Jul 2014 at 1pm
Northwood Town Cricket Club Won by 30 runs

Match report Northwood Town met Pinner for the return fixture between the two clubs and it produced another exciting game but most importantly another win for Northwood Town. Having being invited to bat first by Pinner, Town openers Ramawat and Kotecha got off to decent start before the latter fell. This brought Vadgama to the crease and like he has on most occasions for the Sunday XI this year settled in and started building his innings with good support from Ramawat at the other end before he fell. Next in was Cotton and he also picked up from where he left off a few Sundays back, with a solid knock and some lovely strokes included. Mekwan also got in on the act with some big sixes to keep the scoreboard rattling along and with good support from Firfire, Kessel and Krunal Patel allowed Town to reach a very decent score of 204 for 9 off our 40 overs. Thank you Marjorie for the amazing tea that followed although it is becoming rather difficult to take the field promptly when it's so good and there's so much but take the field we did and opening bowlers Nic Patel and Vadgama ran through Pinner's top order. Kunal Patel picked up his first club wicket with a good spell of bowling whilst Mekwan was unfortunate not to see the bails fall when he got one to brush off stump. The game then suddenly took a turn when Narvencal got in and started to belt the attack all around the park along with Mistry and before long the required runs weren't many at all but Town were able to respond with the experienced Krunal Patel firing in a quicker ball defeating the advancing Narvencal leaving Richard Kessel's sharp glove work to do the rest to a huge sigh of relief. A not so sharp turned into sharp bit of fielding by skipper J.B. allowed Mekwan to enforce a run out before man of the match Vadgama wrapped it all up as Town sealed victory by 30 runs. It's always good to win and especially when everyone plays their part as this Sunday squad has been doing over the season so far and it's great to see us again hit a score of over 200 which is testament to way in which the team approach their innings. Let's keep this train rolling!
