Match report Town bounced back from recent results to record an excellent win against the visiting Waltham Cross Rosedale.

Having won the toss (for a change), Khetia sent in the visitors on a damp track. After some outstanding left arm seam from Maulin Patel and Sajid Malik early on, the pressure eventually told, with Motiwala taking an easy catch off Maulin.

The pressure kept building though and a fantastic runout from Malik soon took care of the other opener.

Some excellent fielding and bowling from Town really did tell, with Janardhanan, Shah and Khetia all contributing tight spells. Even a brief cameo from Ramawat yielded a wicket as Town limited the visitors to 103 for 8 off their 50.

In response, an early wicket did little to unsettle the Town top order. Only an unfortunate runout saw the end of the unlucky Nic Patel . Thakrar made his way to 31 before eventually departing, but Motiwala and the excellent Pradip Pandey saw Town home with 14 overs to spare.

Town moved out of the relegation zone, but Waltham Cross had their fate sealed as any mathematical hope of their survival was ended today.

Khetia was understandably happy afterwards - "It was a massive toss to win, but our performance was a vast improvement on last week in every aspect. Very proud of the lads. I feel for the visitors and they have some bright young prospects in their ranks - they'll turn things around soon enough."
