Match report Town came up just short in a hard fought game against Berkhamsted II.

Having won the toss, the home side elected to bat, but were quickly put under pressure by Daly and Mihir Patel, the latter claiming an early breakthrough.

As the overs progressed though, the home side began to press ahead, reaching 136 for 4 until a combined spell from Daly and Khetia running through the middle order, with the skipper snaring 3 in an over.

A late rally from the tail though took the score from 137 for 8 up to a fighting 180 all out.

In response Town began cautiously and some poor batting quickly saw Berkhamsted take control.

Town began to bat themselves out of the game as the match progressed, scoring at under 2.5 an over and continuing to throw wickets away. A late rally from Maulin Patel began a fightback and a tremendous last stand from Daly and Syed took Town close to victory, but alas it wasn't to be.

Khetia had mixed feelings about the result - "It was an odd performance from us. We could have probably shaved 30 runs off their total and really left the tail too much to do. Plenty of positives though and we'll carry them into next week."
