Match report On a delightfully wet and cold Saturday, Town took to the field having won the toss on an unsurprisingly wet wicket.

Daly and Malik started brilliantly with both making early breakthroughs, but a tremendous innings from Warren negated much of the work the attack could do.

Despite good control and some outstanding fielding, Cheesewright in particularly fine form, Warren continued to make light of the conditions with a combination of power and placement, only falling to a sharp catch from Cotton.

With the innings coming back to Town though, a handy cameo from Fothergill took Gaddesden to 165 all out.

In response, Mihir 'Euromillions' Patel seemed to have taken on Ramawat's mantra as 'The Lucky One'. As Ramawat fell early, Patel made rapid inroads into the total before finally falling to a stunning slip catch for 42.

While Cotton and Vanker held the innings together, their wickets saw the customary Town collapse as the tail couldn't claw back the remaining runs. Town eventually fell 27 short, but had enough time to give the division champions a deserved guard of honour.

A mixed season for Town finishing with a typically mixed performance it seemed, but the skipper remained uncannily cheerful as ever - "You can't fault the lads today, it was freezing cold and a pig of a wicket through no fault of the home lads. It seems to have been the story of our season that we just couldn't see the batting through. A cracking effort nonetheless and great game. Well done to Gaddesden though, a lovely bunch and we wish them all the best in 7a."
