Harefield II v Northwood Town Cricket Club Sunday XI on Sun 02 Aug 2015 at 1pm
Northwood Town Cricket Club Won by 29 runs

Match report On a sunny day the Northwood Town Sunday XI traveled the short distance to Harefield hoping to take full points for a third week in a row. On what was a lovely ground and flat looking wicket, Town skipper J.B had no hesitation to bat first, having won the toss. Openers Loomba and J.B started well, playing watchfully but putting the bad balls away and were able to build a partnership of 61 for the first wicket. When Lister arrived to the crease a succession of boundaries followed as he brought up his fifty. When Loomba departed after his good knock, Mo Vanker decided to get in on the act with a flurry of shots, which raced the Town score along nicely. When both were out a new partnership started briefly between T Katira and Lawrence before a brief collapse with an unfortunate O'Neil getting one that kept low, leaving what were dreams of 250+ in state of array. Fortunately though some late counter attacking from the tail ensured Town would end on a decent total of 221. After a nice tea it was over to our bowlers to do the business and it wasn't long before Parmar got the break though. Harefield's number 3 seemed to be in quite a hurry and hit his first 3 balls for 6. That sort of behaviour does't phase Parmar however, as next ball his stumps were in tatters. Their number 4 batsman was a class act but Daly was unlucky not to have him out early in what was a great opening spell between the two. The introduction of Patel was to good effect as he prized their captain out but a strong partnership then emerged which threatened to take the game away from Town. However, when we needed a big wicket M Katira stepped up to provide it, bowling their 6 which swung things back our way through an excellent spell. The next batsmen was proving stubborn as well before the introduction of Lawrence and a smart catch by Loomba did the job before Patel returned to finish of what was left of Harefield's chances with a terrific caught and bowled effort and another to wicket to follow that up. Lawrence bowled the kid out at the end to give Town a well deserved victory by 29 runs. We had to work hard today but that's what you need to do to gain a win and from start to finish we were good today. A few more tough games to go but if we play like we did today there is a good chance we will pick up a couple more wins. Well done lads.
