Match report Northwood Town CC started off the season in style by bagging 30 points away at Waltham X Rosedale.

Captain Michael Lister lost the toss and was asked to field on a very warm and dry day. Lawrence and Vadgama continued their great work from last year and started off with a really tight opening spell, really putting pressure on the opponents with plenty of dot balls and an extremely tight economy rate.

After a tight start, the bowling changes caused the most damage with Jack Daly, the hero of the day achieving probably the moment of the season already with a hat trick to destroy the Waltham X Rosedale middle order. In conditions that were almost impossible to swing the ball, Jack somehow managed to move the old ball into the right hander to pick up 3 wickets in 3 balls. Caught in the covers, LBW followed by clean bowling the batsmen on the hat-trick ball where the ball moved from outside off stump to uproot the leg stump out of the ground. By this point, Waltham X Rosedale had the stuffing knocked out of them. Krunal Patel continued to plough away on the other end picking with some delightful off spin to pick up 4 wickets bowling the opposition out for 85.

In reply, the opening pair of Loomba and Mekwan started solidly in the chase of 85 with the latter being the aggressor to chase down the target with minimal fuss. After Mekwans dismissal, falling short of his 50, Lawrence finished the game in style with a quick scoring 18 runs to ensure that Northwood Town achieve the 30 points.
