Match report Northwood Town 2s arrived hopeful after last weeks win and a good side.

J.Daly and S.Malik opened the bowling tightly with Malik being particularly stingy. With the ball moving both in the air and off the pitch the batsmen played well to keep their wickets but town couldn't muster up a chance. After showing some attacking intent the town skipper came on but had a day with the ball to forget. With a light drizzle starting it was up to S.Syed and N.Mapara to try and get wickets on a useful deck. The former producing the only genuine chance of the match which was a tough one in the slips. Despite good bowling from both the first wicket still eluded us.

The heavens opened and getting the covers on quick meant we might still be in with a game. That was until we took them off and left 3 frogs, water and an assortment of debris on one section of the pitch. The words "frog stopped play" brought laughter but their skipper was keen to continue (he was on 44 not out). With the crease at one end dangerous from water and amphibians, common sense prevailed and the match was abandoned. The frogs were returned home and we headed back too.

Honorable mention to the batsmen on the other pitch who mooed so hard he injured his back. Much to the admiration of our captain and his vice.
