Match report After a recent run of excellent results, Town crumbled to a poor defeat at the hands of Langleybury III.

Having been sent into bat, Town couldn't get going and 2 wickets in as many balls saw the visitors firmly in the ascendency. Despite a brief recovery, 2 more quick wickets fell, leaving Haji and Palan at the crease. An excellent recovery briefly offered Town hope, the pair putting on a fifty stand.

Unfortunately though, the drinks break was a disaster for Town, Palan falling first ball after for a well played 32. The predictable collapse ensued, but the nature of it was quite spectacular even by Town standards, with the last 6 wickets falling for just 13 runs.

In response, the visitors started well, Ball in particular looking in top form. With an unbroken fifty stand to kick off proceedings, Langleybury were always in the box seat. Some excellent bowling from Maulin Patel though ripped through the top order and when Syed prized out Ball for 51, Town did have a glimmer of hope.

Too little, too late though for Town as a combination of sublime and comedy drives from McLachlan saw Langleybury home to a deserved victory. Town were left ruing an awful display with the bat, with only themselves to blame.
