Match report A devastating new ball partnership between Mitesh Parmar and Nic Patel propelled Northwood Town 3rd XI to a crushing 65-run win, skittling opponents Mill Hill Village 3rds for just 55.

No other bowlers were required as Parmar (5-15) and Patel (5-33) wrapped up the innings in just 20.1 overs, with just one batsman reaching double figures. Fusing swing with zip and relentless accuracy, the pair deserved success after lacking luck in recent weeks.

Town's substandard total of 120 was built on a dogged 35 from skipper Ben Rawson-Jones, who batted with uncharacteristic restraint and mobility for 23 overs as wickets tumbled at the other end.

However, at 67-6, a three figure score looked in doubt. It was reached thanks to a smart 30 not out from Taz Katira, who accelerated admirably in the final few overs. His vital partnership of eighth wicket partnership of 30 with Dave 'The Legend' Harding, who showed all his guile and experience, was the highest of the match.

Skipper Rawson-Jones mused: "It was great to bounce back from the recent drubbing - with Nic and Mitesh both outstanding. The high pitched yelp emitted by Mitesh has to be one of the most formidable sounds heard on the cricket field in Hertfordshire's lower leagues."
