Match report With just two points separating the teams between 8th and 9th place, Loomba won the toss in a crunch game v Chorleywood 2s.

On a green, slow wicket Town lost Haji early as Lister and Vadgama looked to rebuild. The in-form Vadgama continued to bat overs whilst losing partner with Michael, Kyle and Akshay all falling cheaply. Following a week at Glastonbury, Burt came in and knuckled down with great focus, almost fooling the opposition that he had been at a mindful yoga retreat instead. As a partnership began to build, Veer missed a ball on a length which hit him in the box, only he wasn't wearing a box. Sadly, this meant he got run out a couple of balls later and couldn't be utilised for the rest of the game. Struggling on 134/7 with only 13 overs left and into the tail, vice captain Krunal Patel showing why he extends the tail with some fantastic hitting and running between the wickets alongside Burt. A quickfire 50 partnership helped Town to 193 all out, a fantastic score considering the conditions and the start the team had.

In reply, injured Vadgama was unable to bowl so Krunal Patel was asked to open the bowling with some off spin and his fellow opening bowling partner Kyle Lawrence soon followed Veer onto the injury list as after his first over he rolled his ankle collecting the ball past the boundary at fine leg. Jack Daly provided a fantastic spell of bowling, ripping through the Chorleywood top order and also taking the wicket of ex-town player Rohan Lee, caught behind for a duck. Keval, who was making his debut for the 1s really stepped up to the plate bowling consistent lengths to regular beat the outside edge and also delivered a fantastic throw from the deep square leg boundary to force a run out an break a key 4th wicket partnership. In a similar situation to last week, Chorleywood went into their shell and left and blocked absolutely everything. Struggling to take the last wicket, Loomba tried absolutely everything to dismiss the patient tailenders. With 3 overs to go, in a desperate plea, Vadgama was persuaded to give it a go and as always came up with the goods, getting Hawker stuck at the crease and strapping him on the pads to win Northwood Town the game and to ensure his side exits the relegation zone.

Loomba spoke after the game: 'The team showed excellent character for the second week in a row to get over the line for the win. It is easy in these situations to accept that the game is destined for a draw but these guys want to win so badly, we always give ourselves a chance. Another crunch game next week against Reed who are just 2 points ahead of us and the boys will do everything in their power to make it 3 in 3.'
