Match report New Skipper Raj Kotecha won the toss and elected to bowl first, on the first game of the league season on a good deck.

City started well but were matched with some good tight bowling at the start by Shahmir and Maulin. After some sensible and experienced batting from Hughes and the top order, City were 120-2. Town bowlers persisted and with tight bowling from Mihir Patel and support with wickets from Harish and Shahmir, Town restricted City to 192-9 after 50 overs.

Town started shaky and found themselves 12-2 after 4 overs. Mihir Patel (27) and Raj Kotecha (34) steadied the ship and looked comfortable at the crease together putting on a partnership of 74. However after a couple of quick wickets, the game was back in the balance but a classy 49 from Suvin, supported well by Rabi (14) and a cameo 24* from Maulin saw Town home comfortably in the end.

Skipper Raj Kotecha 'Perfect start from the lads, great win and great performance. We still have areas to improve which we will be working on. The win gives us a lot of confidence for the season and we will be looking to build on the win next Saturday.'
