Northwood Town Cricket Club Lost By 12 runs

Match report Town won the toss and decided to bowl first in conditions that suited. After a balanced start, Radlett pushed on with a strong second wicket partnership. However, after persistent bowling and some sharp catching, town took 3 wickets in quick succession putting them back in the driving seat. This included an absolute 'worldie' of a catch from 15 year old Muzzi on the boundary. Some experienced batting from Radlett and poor fielding at the death from Town, Radlett finished on 177.

Town started very poorly, finding themselves 50-6 at the halfway point. Sensible batting from Ravi Kotecha (53*) and Maulin (39) brought Town back in the game with a sniff. Ravi Kotecha batted superbly and timed his innings perfectly, milking the singles with Muzzi in the last few overs. Town fell just short with a couple of overs to spare, in a nail biting finish.

Skipper Raj Kotecha 'Radlett scored 25 more than we would have liked but it was still a very winnable game, on a good deck. After the top order collapse, Ravi K and Maulin batted incredibly well to give us hope but it wasn't meant to be. Lots of positives to take from the game and lots to learn also. We go again next week.'
