Match report On a cloudy and chilly day at NTCC, the Mighty 3s took on a good spirited St Albans in their opening league fixture. Having lost the toss and been asked to bat, Town made a steady start with openers Pandey and Bentvelzen, the former hitting some nice shots before he got one that rose on him and nicked off. Balakrishnan came to crease and played his usual attacking game adding useful runs before he was caught. T.Katira came in just before drinks and then batted to end, playing an excellent innings, full of attacking flair. Unfortunately Town were unable to really push on with only Tailor at 11 adding a few quick runs after the familiar Town collapse. After a lovely tea provided by the Katira family, Town got off to a decent start with the ball, collecting 3 early wickets through Parmar's bowling. Sadly from there on the we showed a little early season rust and St Albans were able to build a solid partnership which Town never really recovered from. Not our finest performance by a long shot, as I know we can do much better than what we produced today but it happens sometimes.
