Match report On a warm but occasionally cloudy day The Mighty 3s travelled to Berkhampstead looking to continue our winning ways and leapfrog them in the table. Skipper J.B. won the toss and decided to bowl on a grassy wicket with a fast sloping outfield. Opening bowlers Parmar and Pandey started well both taking an early wicket each and were unlucky not to have had one more as Tailor took what we all thought was a catch from behind the stumps. There was some stubborn resistance from the Berko middle order supporting their opening skipper but they were never allowed to get away from us as Vadgama and Mobeen bowled tightly and eventually got their rewards. A good spell at the end from Mekwan and the returning Parmar got us through the tail reasonably cheaply, the highlight being a caught and bowled where Mekwan reacted cleverly to detect the possibility of Fanner's attempted catch under a skyer being shelled and as it did he dived one handed to grasp the ball millimetres from the turf. Fanner was able to make amends with a good catch to follow as Berkhampstead were bowled out for 156. After a nice tea Town went out to bat with a positive mindset from the start as Mekwan's hitting started to endanger the sheep in the neighbouring field. He was well assisted by Balakrishnan with some good shots of his own as Town got closer to their target. The entrance of Palan only accelerated our scoring as he played solidly along with some tasty boundaries. Lal joined the party also playing well and ensuring we were able to get over the line without any dramas. It was a superb victory today and again everyone played their part in contributing towards an important win for us. Our bowling was excellent, backed up with good fielding and our batsmen all played positively. Let's see if we can keep this momentum going into the next few games.
