Match report On a cloudy July day The Mighty 3s hosted a spirited Watford Town as we looked to build on recent wins. NTCC won the toss and decided to bowl first on a slow outfield and conditions right for swing bowling. Opening bowlers Parmar and Pandey started extremely well, not allowing the batsmen to go at much more than a run an over and it was the former who managed to remove the Watford top three for very little. The pressure continued to be applied as Vadgama also kept things tight and prized out a couple more batsmen. A slick bit of fielding from Balakrishnan capitalised on a mix up to enforce a run out as the wickets continued to fall. Gordhandas and Katira joined the party both taking two wickets each backed up by smart catches from Mobeen and a third from Tailor from behind the stumps, who also finished with a stumping to leave Watford 77 all out. After a delicious tea provided by Vadgama and family, NTCC got off to a slow start with the bat losing two early wickets but Palan joined Bentvelzen at the crease as both took the attack back to Watford with some good shots and were able to see the job through to end for their team with plenty of overs to spare unfortunately for Lal who was sat patiently with his pads on. Altogether it was another excellent display today from the lads and was built again on a superb bowling performance backed up by some good fielding. We've now reached the half way point of the season and having played every team in the division we know that if we perform like we have in the past few weeks we can continue to do well.
