Match report A complete performance.....responsible batting, accurate bowling and superb fielding.

Town lost the toss and were inserted to bat on what appeared to be a soft slightly spongy wicket despite it being under covers all week. The opening pair of Rawson & Lal got off to a good start, both batsmen running well and hitting the boundary freqeuntly. Apart from the ringer that Rikmansworth 4s had bought in from their 2s the bowling was mediocre and never troubled the batsman too much. The score continued along at a steady 4-5 runs per over and batting conditions improved as the wicket dried out. Solid contributions from the top order provided a base for the middle order to build a substantial score after drinks. Explosive batting from Gordy with superb support from Carrigan & Myers took Town to a season high of 209.

After a light tea, Town took the field and Parmar and Myring proceeded to bamboozle the opposition with swing, bounce and movement. Little resistence was offerred by the Rikmansworth batsmen to the bowling typhoon with Parmar picking up his 1st of many 5 fors and Myring 3 beautiful wickets. The tail was cleaned up by Shaw who took his 1st senior wicket for the 2019 season.

Great energy and support in the field for the bowlers married with some excellent fielding positions gave Town a well deserved boost to the start of the season.

Fabulous day out demonstrating what the 3s are capable of.......keep going boys !
