Match report A fabulous start to our 1st game of the league season. Despite a gloomy, miserable and wet week, thanks to our wonderful ground staff we were able to to make history and win our 1st game on the new NTCC back grass square. Huge thank you all our members who helped get the club house ready, sight screens, set-up etc..

3s won the toss and inserted WHT onto what looked like a damp and slowish wicket. The match was reduced to 28 overs to ensure the pitch was safe to play. Early going was tough with openers Myring and Hiren bowling tight line and length and forcing the opening batsmen to conjure shots. First wicket fell in the 10th over with the score at 46, a beauty of an inswinger from young Myring rattling off stump. WHT then turned up the rate rate with their no 3 batsmen scoring a solid 50. Bowling change bought on Het who proceeded to take 4 well deserved wickets. WHT continued to score at between 5-7 runs per over despite losing quick wickets. Well held catches from Rudra at mid-wicket and Kunal and deep mid-wicket maintained pressure and we managed to restrict WHT to 157 from the reduced 28 overs.

WHT's opening bowlers were initially a handful and 3s lost both openers in the early overs. Newcomer Thierry showed early aggression and scored a quickfire 21 to warm-up the innings and keep us on an maintainable run rate. The fall of the 2nd wicket bought in batting prodigy Keeran who played with incredible maturity and poise to score a brilliant and match winning 69 not out. He was ably supported by vice captain Kishan who's power hitting had WHT staring into the sky ending on 35 not out.

3s reeled in the winning runs with 2 overs to spare. Great team performance and start to the season. C'mon the mighty 3s !
