Match report On a damp morning, Hatfield won the toss and unsurprisingly decided to bowl first.

Despite being a slightly damp wicket, it was still fairly firm so the bounce was quite true albeit a slow wicket with a very slow outfield. Whilst Vadgama looked to bed in and dig deep to get through the initial challenging phase of the new ball on a green, wet wicket - Loomba had other ideas and decided to take the attack the opponents, playing aggressive shots and riding his luck after being put down several times before his luck ran out and got caught in the covers. Veer continued to play very nicely despite the challenging conditions and rotated well with Mikhil before departing. At 97/2 and both openers now gone, the slow bowlers of hatfield really turned the screw and Town could only manage 1 run in the next 6 overs as they lost 3 wickets in the same time period. Wickets kept tumbling and Town were dismissed for 141.

At the break the sun had come out and the jumpers were off, the outfield was now fairly dry and a lot quicker and the pitch was coming through so whilst 141 was a competitive score at the end of the innings, it was definitely a lot easier to bat in the second innings. Vadgama and Daly did what they do best - getting the ball to move in the air and bowling it on a sixpence ball after ball. They made life really tough for the Hatfield batters and were well supported by a fantastic fielding effort with almost all catches taken. Keval Shah kept it tight and was very unlucky not to get a wicket or two with some unplayable deliveries. 1s debutant Madhavan showed he can compete at this level, bowling his 5 overs with immaculate discipline and consistency bowling 3 maidens in a row in his first 3 and picking up 3 wickets for just 6 runs in his 5 overs. Viral Patel picked up the final wicket to finish off an impressive bowling and fielding display and 30 points in the bag.
