Match report
NTCC travelled to Croxley to play away at Batchworth on an astro wicket. We lost the toss and got put in to bat first with Sam and Dhaval opening the batting. Sam got bowled in the third over without scoring and Dhaval followed not too long after. Tushar then came in and made a contribution before also getting bowled. Ali and Stanley then came in and we're not able to push on too much before getting dismissed by the opening bowlers like those before them. First time match for colt Ishaan saw a very impressive knock contributing 15 with some fabulous shots before getting out caught to a slower delivery - very promising for future games. Roney then came in and was the highlight of the batting innings scoring 30 not out staying in for the remainder of the innings and doing a fine job of steadying the ship for a much needed recovery with the early collapse. Prax came in on the other end and played some nice shots to up the score fairly quickly before being caught. The remaining runs came from a good partnership between Roney and Saad with Saad playing his best inning sof the season so far putting on a very much needed 27. A final score of 147 to defend.

We went into the field with a confident stride and began our bowling very purposefully with Abhay leading the attack and after starting very well he got his just rewards picking up a wicket in his 3rd and 4th overs. On the other end Asadullah done a superb job restricting the run rate and bowling with fabulous pace and keeping the batsman honest. The opening two came off after 6 overs each and got us off to a great start in the field having applied good pressure on the league leaders. Ishaan and Saad replaced them and were complimentary of the first two. We also had contributing spells from Stanley and Dhaval. In the end we came very close with some last minute wickets from Abhay and in the end had Batchworth 147/8 in the 36th over. It wasn't enough in the end but we played very well against one of the top teams in the league.
