Match report Town travelled to the scenic Frogmore cricket club to take on Division 10s opponents Abbots Langley. Having won the toss on a a dry flat track, Town skipper decided to bat first.

Openers Pradip and Kunal fended off the first few overs from the opening quicks. However wickets fell early in the 5th over with Kunal feathering an outside edge to the keeper and Lal bowled under his bat. Nakum steadied the innings with his usual patience and concentration, he was joined in the 9th over by Amit and the pair began to rebuild the innings. Amit played superbly running singles and twos hard but also despatching the loose balls to the boundary with regularity. A foundational 1st half century for Amit was the backbone of the Town innings. A cameo from Smit added 15 runs to the total but unfortunately Town could not bat out their 40 overs and the innings ended on 134.

Abbots needing less than 3.5 runs over over played sensibly and diligently with the openers putting on a 114 run partnership effectively taking away any chances of winning the game from Town. Three late wickets bought a temporary flurry of activity in Abbots changing room but they reached the target comfortably in the 35th over.

Today we were out bowled, out batted and also out sledged......1st month of the season gone and we've won 1 out of 3 games, plenty of cricket to come...onwards.
