Match report Turning up to Chipperfield Claredon CC after an hour drive was well worth it as Town came onto a beautiful square and ground. Having rested after the long drive, Town lost the toss and the opposition decided to bat so Town opened the bowling with Ibbad Kayanim making his debut for the club on Sunday and bowling with Abhay Joshi. Both bowlers started off well with a 10 over spell between them, bowling tight and keeping the opposition working hard for their runs, taking a total of 4 wickets from their 10 over spell and conceding 23 runs in the first 10 overs. Vivek and Mairaj soon came into the attack and they both kept runs low and continued the tumble of wickets with Mairaj taking 2 wickets for 20 runs in his 7 overs. Saad Kayani, also making his debut for the club on Sunday, came in to replace Vivek and took 3 wickets for 10 runs in his 4 overs, allowing us to roll over the opposition for just 71 runs in 24.4 overs.

After a quick tea break and a discussion with the opposition skipper, Town decided to extend their score of 71 to 100 to give Town more time to bat and practice ahead of the season to come. Opening the batting for NTCC was Sajid and Burty, both who started well and played some very nice shots. Sajid and Burty had a partnership of 44 till Burty was bowled bu a great delivery, whilst Sajid retired not out on 25, freeing up space for Harry Shaw and Stanley to come in. Both played their shots and looked to take control of the innings but both were unfortunately bowled, bringing Skipper Keeran and Amit to come and finish off the game. After some initial nervousness and anxiety, Keeran and Amit started running well and playing their shots, hitting a few boundaries and running hard, bringing the game home for NTCC with Amit ending on 21 not out and Keeran ending on 19 not out.

A great performance for the boys, good batting, bowling and fielding all round and some real positives for our newer members Amit, Ibbad and Saad ahead of their first season at NTCC!
