Northwood Town Cricket Club Lost Lost by 18 Runs

Match report NTCC 3s hosted arch rivals Watford to our home ground this week. Skipper Gordy won the toss again and inserted the opposition to bat.

The openers made a steady start cumulating runs and building partnerships. Their opener reached 50 whilst two middle order batsmen contributed 20 and 30 respectively to build up a final target of 188. A good fielding performance was displayed with several catches behind the stumps. Ultimately it was again our retired Bollywood superstar (who had forgone an invitation to the Ambani wedding to play for NTCC this weekend) who shined with another 5 wicket haul.

NTCC top order fired again scoring 40 runs in the first 8 overs. A superb 2nd wicket partnership bought another 69 runs to the table and NTCC were well on their way reaching 109 for 1 in the 26th over. Panic and quick wickets faltered the run chase and we were left 17 runs short at the end of the 40 overs.

Overall a strong performance but again a marginal loss.
