Match report NTCC 3s travelled to Central Watford to battle West Herts. Vice captain and part-time Bollywood super start Pradip won the toss and inserted the opposition to bat on a damp and slow wicket.

A lack lustre bowling and fielding performance today, despite a superb 4 wicket haul from Het, and very tight bowling from Akshar, division placed no 10 West Herts were still able to amass a score of 156 in their allotted 40 overs. Once again the opposition’s batsman Mr Extras ran away with the total scoring 31 out of the 156.

What should have been a target for NTCC of around 70-90 runs in the end was a bridge too far. Too slow a start by the top order left the lower order batsmen with too much to achieve a scoring rate of 7-9 runs per over. Only master blaster Cadman showed any determination despite running out two of his own batsmen to hit a majestical 27 and keep hopes of a win alive.

Improved concentration at the batting crease, better rotation and tighter bowling lines are the lesson learned for next week. Onwards…
