Match report Northwood Town were beaten by 167 runs at Shenley Village after the hosts posted an imposing 287/7 from their 50 overs, before Northwood were bowled out for just 120 in 27.3 overs.

Shenley had won the toss and elected to bat, and their batsmen made the most of the opportunity. Ben Werter (74) and Richard Evans (79) laid the foundations for a formidable total, before William Poynton's unbeaten 44 from just 29 balls provided a powerful finish.

Northwood's bowlers did manage to take seven wickets, with Kishan Gordhandas, Pratik Patel and Keval Shah all taking two wickets, but Shenley's batting depth proved decisive.

Chasing 288, Northwood needed a strong start but quickly found themselves under pressure.

Suvin Mekwan was dismissed for 2, before Ravi Ramawat offered some resistance with 19 from 41 balls. Deepak Raj then briefly threatened to change the momentum, hitting six boundaries in a quick-fire 25 from 17 balls, but he was bowled by Nakul Trivedi.

Trivedi subsequently tore through the Northwood middle order. After removing Raj, he dismissed Rudra Shah and Nishant Maniya for ducks before returning to claim the wickets of Panash Shah and Aashir Rifat. His figures of 5/19 from seven overs were the outstanding bowling performance of the match.

The one significant resistance came from Iqbal Anjum, who struck eight boundaries on his way to a determined 41 from 53 balls. Anjum's effort delayed the inevitable, but with wickets falling around him, Northwood were eventually bowled out for 120.

Krish Deebak also played a major role for Shenley, taking 2/36, while Suraj Shankar and Ketan Prajapati claimed one wicket apiece.

With Northwood dismissed inside 28 overs, Shenley completed a 167-run victory.
