Match report Town hosted Hatfield Hyde and were hoping to continue their winning streak. Batting first on a hot day after winning the toss, Town started well with a new opening pair of Nschay and Rohit. They started in their usualy styles, Rohit started aggressively playing big shorts and on the other end Nschay playing his classic wristy shorts making sure the strike is rotated. The pair had over a 100 run partnership in quick time before both of them got out in qucik succession. Then as it has happened many a times the middle order were not able to take advantage of the wonderful start and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The run rate came down and looked like its going to a much lower total than expected. Jack and Vishal showed some resistance while rotating strike and scoring an odd boundary. Iqbal who was not going to bat because of a split webbing (happened in the previous game against letchworth) decided to go in and give it a try. He quickly figured out that because of his injury he is not able to play his normal game of finding the gaps and timing the ball through them, he infact had to use more of his bottom hand if playing in front of the wicket or just use the pace of the ball and play behind. Its ias if the bowlers were helping him out and were bowling exactly how he wanted them to bowl. He creamed the ball over covers to the boudary a few times and on other ocassions used the pace of the ball to play cuts or pulls for his 6 boundaries off the 19 balls faced for a quick fire 34 finishing the Town innings at 214 off the 40 overs, welll supported by Jack at the other end.

Hatfield needing 5.5 runs per over came out trying to score quickly. They started well by hitting Jack and Sajid all over the place and raced to about 30 odd runs in 4 overs before the duo struck back. 4 quick wickets by Sajid and 1 by Jack left the oppo struggling at 50 odd for 5. Sandeep showed a it of resistance but no other Hatfield players were able to stay long enough to support him. Iqbal and keval kept the pressure going, especially Keval who was bowling quick and accurate and went through the oppo middle order taking 4 wickets and Iqbal got 1 wicket. The opposition was bowled out for 115 giving Town a 99 run victory.

Highlight of the match was 6 catches taken by Vishal, shocking to have that many for 1 game. Even more shocking was that all the catches were at the same fielding position, Mid-On. Well done Vishal.

Good performance overall and a great win. The middle order once again showing signs that it can be unreliable and needs to work more on trying to keep rotating the strike so as not to let pressure build up and then getting out trying to hit big shots. Hopefully someday.
