Match report In a game that looked certain to provide runs galore, Khetia won the toss and elected to bat. It proved to be a costly decision as the 'Road' has more than a few surprises in it with plenty of lift and movement for the Reed openers.

With early wickets in abundance, Rizvi and Khetia tried their best to steady the ship with Ramawat continuing his red hot form at the top, but it wasn't until the arrival of Lal that Town began to bat with any authority.

A face saving partnership of 84 took town from 71 for 6 up to 155 for 7 before Ramawat departed for an outstanding 65. The decision to send Malik up the order proved an inspired call with the leftie slamming sixes into the trees scoring 22 off just 11 deliveries and Town ended on a respectable 189 for 9.

Town unfortunately fell victim to their own trickery. A devastatingly nice tea meant a sluggish start in the field with Reed racing away at the top. Some good bowling changes pegged the scores back and breakthroughs followed swiftly.

Unfortunately for Town a serious of dropped catches meant the home side raced ahead of the game. A great knock from Barlow eventually ended at the hand of Furmenger and though more wickets fell, Town had left themselves too much to do as Reed finished off the job with 9 overs to spare.

Khetia was understandably disappointed after the game - "The Reed opening bowlers really put us on the back foot today, but the great work from Ravi and Ajay deserved better. Had we taken our chances we would have cruised it today. As for Garrat, someone buy that lad a lottery ticket!!! A top game though and the better side won."
