Match report And so normality resumes with the 3s. Mitesh picks up 5 wickets yet again. Taz back as captain. Vinodh gets another 60+ score. The fielders are tight. JB smashes another finger. (Rawson-Jones out to a girl). A resounding win. Two jugs bought after the game. Feet up on Sunday. That’s more we like it.

Town won the toss and elected to field. Meeth Katira and Mitesh Parmar ensured early breakthroughs and the latter kept going, only satisfied after he picked up his fifth wicket yet again. The back up bowlers were good too, with Skantha and Taz both bowling tight lines and lengths, and were unlucky not to get more than 2 wickets each. Skantha in particular uncannily resembled a right-armed Mitesh and proved a very welcome addition to the 3s bowling line-up.

Shout out to the opposition captain, a batswoman whose technique and ability rivalled the best men in the division. Aggresive Vikram down the order did a good job too, to ensure that Radlett V did not get bowled out for under 100.

Back to blowing our own horns: kudos also to Town’s fielders: six catches in all, including a quick-reaction catches at square leg and point by Skan and Taz; and with Meeth and debutant Krish Dhanuka settling under two swirling skiers, truly supporting our bolwers in the best possible way. Vinodh yet again looked the part behind the stumps, doing an excellent job.

Set 132 to win, it *should* have been an easy victory, but we all know and love Town for our well-renowned collapses. Thankfully this time, by the time Town had its mini-“collapse”, the game was well and truly in the bag, thanks yet again to a beautifully-formed inning by Vinodh, playing some cracking shots all around the wicket. Respect also to Rajul for wonderfully playing second fiddle in a 56-run second wicket partnership, which set a solid foundation for Town’s win.

All in all, a great day out, with the game played with wonderful teamsmanship. Well done lads: tester coming up next week, and we’re ready for it!
