Match report Northwood Town 3s slumped to a 7 wicket thrashing at the merciless hands of Berkhamsted 3s to continue this season's inconsistency.

A lack of batting prowess again afflicted the Town, although the opposition skipper was quick to admit it was a crucial toss to win. Stuck into bat on a wicket still suffering from the effects of the recent rain, Town's top order lacked the discipline and patience required to deal with a new ball that frequently popped.

Opener Jonathan Bentvelzen snared his first gash in a long while - courtesy of a ball that reared up from a good length onto his chin. Only Maulin Patel (23) made any significant contribution with the bat, as Town were bowled out for 89 in 36.2 overs.

Fearing the arrival of the forecasted showers, Berkhamsted came out all guns blazing. With the pitch now dried and playing perfectly, Town's bowlers tried their best but couldn't stop the opposition from reaching the target after 20.3 overs for the loss of three wickets.
