Match report Town travelled to Cockfosters for the last league game of the 1st leg which has been full of wet damp conditions and today was no different. Game was delayed due to late showers and it was reduced to 40 over each innings. Town lost the toss and surprisingly were asked to bowl 1st.

New ball was shared between Malik and Patel and Malik got a break through in his first over while Patel struggled to the left/right combination. Malik picked-up another wicket in his 5th over leaving Cockfosters 35/2 in 10 overs. A double bowling change was introduced - Halai & Shah were into the attack and Shah cleaned-up Holmes who was looking dangerous. Halai was also rewarded with a wicket with his tight lines leaving Fosters reeling at 53/4 in 15 overs. Both Fosters batsmen decided to buckle down and apply themselves resulting in a safe cricket for the next 15 overs - Fosters 110/4 in 30 overs. Town rotated the bowling in search of the wickets but they were hard to come by. Next 10 overs and Fosters were set for a charge with wickets in hands but some decent bowling effort by Town only allowed 50 runs and Cockfosters ended-up on 161/8 in their 40 overs.

Town opened with S Patel and Gairola and both gave a decent start before getting out in a quick succession - 32/2. Skipper Ramawat and Malik who was promoted up the order were in the middle to stay on top of asking run rate given the rain prediction. Ramawat got out in pursuit of RR and Pandey joined the middle. Both Malik & Pandey found it difficult to not only rotate the strike but to also fetch the boundaries. Together they added 24 runs in the next 10 overs - 88/3 in 26 overs. Just when the pressure was mounting up, both batsmen got out trying to keep up with the asking rate. The situation was on a knife edge and that bought together two of the town batsmen in form - Aggarwal and Sudagaran and right from the ball 1, they both played on a different planet/surface and took Solanki to the cleaners who so far looked threatening and unplayable. Between them, they scored 25 runs in his 1 over and changed the course of the game. Their hitting and placement was so crisp and precise that skipper wished there were more runs to chase. Such was authority and control shown by the both batsman.

Town chased down the score in 36 overs which at one point looked like a mountain. Such was the class of Aggarwal and Sudagaran - handing Town a much needed win to finish the 1st leg on a high note.

We all know it has been a very poor season so far but I have a full confidence in our ability and with a bit of application and some luck, I have no doubt that we will be back on course.
